VIDEO: Akeem Springs Emerging For Gophers

The only contributing senior on this year’s Gophers basketball squad is one of the newest faces.

Transfer Akeem Springs, formerly of UW-Milwaukee, again provided a lift off the bench Friday night as the Gophers cruised to their most convincing win of the season, 86-49 over Georgia Southern. The graduate transfer has double figures in three of the last four games and 12 3-pointers over that stretch.

As you’ll see in the video above, Springs is playing with a chip on his shoulder after being overlooked by major-conference schools during his recruitment.
